The significant gap in workforce skills, recruiting and training new employees, and increasing the knowledge base of current staff, creates both time and budgetary challenges for organizations. Using AR Instructor, operations and field service leaders can create engaging training tailored specifically to their standard operating procedures and complex equipment. This visual experience promotes immersive, hands-on learning that enables workers to interact with their environment, quickly gain new skills and expertise, and receive additional guidance from an expert while working remotely.

Arvizio is committed to delivering the technology and tools to streamline operational activities and train employees more efficiently. AR Instructor technology feature enhancements include:

Hands-free Gestures for Magic Leap 2Hands-free capabilities are a critical aspect of AR guided workflows and enable the user to visualize the overlayed instructions and assets leaving the hands unrestricted to perform the required activity. AR Instructor on Magic Leap 2 allows the user to switch between controller utilization and gestures seamlessly within the application while performing complex tasks. Use of the controller remains a preferred method when authoring 3D workflows.

Remote Expert Conferencing – The ability to connect with a remote expert for additional guidance and/or validation of performed work is crucial to attaining success in both training and actual task performance. AR Instructor now supports conference features for simultaneous interaction with multiple participants. The Arvizio conference feature allows several team members to join a web browser user session and provide real-time feedback. Participants can capture freeze-frame pictures from the onsite user video feed and provide AR annotations visible to all participants.

Responsive Digital Twins – The use of digital twins, in stand-alone training scenarios or overlayed on physical equipment, provide the AR Instructor user with precise, easily identified attributes to further guide their instruction. AR Instructor now includes interactive and responsive digital twin features:

  • 3D Model Hot Spots – Digital twins can be augmented with hot spot areas or feature buttons which directs the user to take action, move to a new step, or validates positive identification.
  • 3D Model Responsive Movement – The ability to accurately position parts and components is vital to many training scenarios. AR Instructor responds to the movement of components to validate accuracy of placement and provide guiding responses to the user.

These new features are available for Magic Leap 2 and Microsoft HoloLens 2 headsets and iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. A demo package is also available for Qualcomm Snapdragon Spaces.

“As business leaders work to actively address on-going staffing shortages, it is important for them to optimize operational practices and training initiatives,” said Alex Berlin, President and CEO at Arvizio. “AR Instructor continues to give companies new features that are not only highly tailored to enhancing retention and hiring efforts, but also configurable to allow each individual company to personalize their instruction for their unique needs. With AR Instructor, customers can reduce their training workload and improve accuracy and safety so that they can focus on business growth.”

AR Instructor provides the tools to train and guide personnel and enhance the productivity of physical work. AR Instructor enables the creation of instructional content in the form of step-by-step procedures, using no-code authoring tools and seamless integration of 3D models, videos, documents, and images. Users can quickly connect with remote experts to see the on-site worker’s physical world in real-time and collaborate via their web browser.

AR Instructor is a cross-platform solution supporting a range of the industry’s leading AR headsets and devices, including Microsoft HoloLens 2 and Magic Leap 2, as well as iPads, iPhones and Android mobile devices.
